Real Run 05 ..Real tough..Real Steady

Woke up in the morning at 5.30am catch a ride from janice head down to sentosa. Reach there at about 7am
thats over 1hr 45mins from start off timing. so took some oppourtunity to stretch a little while waiting for the rest of the gang like kay teck , yong wei and gang to appear. The weather was alright, Well having run the realrun last year i wasnt expecting alot of different to this year run other then the reduction of the extra 1 over km beach terrain.( which i suppose is a good thing, cause its kinda tiring trudging thru the sand). This year event is sponsored by New Balance , i guess its one of their marketing strategy to kick start there new branding and revamping project.

Well as most of the guys in our group are virgin runners we decided to not run in front but some how at the back and pace other runners. As usual the super endurance runner janice and yong wei takes the front while me , kay and shirley takes the back. Tried to do some interesting manouvers like drafting but hehee its doesnt works in running.

Once we hit the beach my heart start pumping and race off the group. unfortunately after the end of the beach terrain i have to pulse a moment as i need to get the sand out. (thats very annoying to have it in your shoes).

at 8.5 km mark i lag back somemore by goin to the gents to relieve myself ..(damn bladders haha) and at that moment i bump into kay (nudge him on the back) . As predicted at janice and yong wei has cross the finish line.

how did i fare? well i forgot to look at the timing. but i know kay came in at 1hr 15 mins so i guess mine should be at 1hr 10 mins.

Well this year its slightly more organise with 4 drink station along the way 2 serving water the other 2 serving 100 plus. Aprt from that the T-shirt collection is faster this time round compared with last year, having it done out door then goin up to the hall to collect.

Well next run for me is in sept ! Army half marathon 21km here i come!

Food and Fun
As you probably known that SMU has just open its campus in cityhall area last monday. Heres a sneak peak to where most students and white collar will flock to first ..the kopi tiam!.. where else to ogle at cute students? Unfortunately the food is pretty much expensive prices are from 4-5 bucks ..i guess its due to 2 reasons
- rental is high due to the location
- Its run by kopitiam a chain of "high class" food court

Lets hope the students in SMU are well to do

Came to office today and discovered that my PC (i guess its the motherboard) gave up its last breath. ..it had expired... well can't do much now so i guess i just have ta wait for my new PC to arrive. Which i hope wil be tomorrow ..

Power of psycho!
Went for a jog with my jogging mates at eastcoast we did (rather i did ) a whopping 13km and i think the others went for an extra 6km. So having that in mind and spurred upon (kenna psychoed) by my friends...i signed up for the 21km run at safra half marathon. Well i also collected the race pack for the sentosa real run the day before

This year the runners for real run will get a personalised cert with time and photos printed on it ..cool.
As for the half-marathon each runner will get a medal for completing it...double cool

Now the question ..should i do a full marathon end of the year? ....

Tiger beer revamp?
When to acidbar on Friday night and brian happened to ordered a bucket of tiger beer (5 for 35 bucks) The first thing i notice is that the tiger beer bottle was traditionally brown in color But this new design at first looks black ( due to low light in the pub) but after i took a shot of it using my ever so trusty ixus v . A saloon car that is in between the lexus and camary. A 2.5 litre vehicle..engine gives a smooth and powerful delivery. Nice and comfortable interior coupled with adjustable seats for the rear passenger.

Going to the dogs
So i was out to sentosa for a cockle spaniel gathering , 4 dogs (1 mother 3 off springs) were on a family reunion.
Here are some stuff i observed:
1 ) Dogs will do anything for food (stand, sit, roll over, shake hand) you name it probably even "speak".
2) They do pee, poo anywhere (even in front of beachgoers)
3) love to swim

The event was held at Tanjung Beach not sure if this is true but its know to be a place where the rangers allow dogs to roam-freely without leash (can anyone clarify this fact?)

Big mistake!!
Today being National Day, got my camera equipment . (canon 350D , 2 lens , manfrotto tripod, shutter release) hoping to go down to sheares bridge to do some photo shooting of the fireworks display.

Once i reached there ...to my horror... i forgot to bring my battery pack!!.. thank goodness i have a ixus V with me.. as back up.. but still it was unforgivable..how could i not bring it...

Was at sentosa on a mission.. actually its for the realrun training , Got up 6am in the morning for the run over at sentosa..i guess training runs are worst then the actually run as water points are only at the start and the finishing line. So along the way i jump into any toilets i see and sip up some water before goin back to the race.

why am I saying so ? Well I am not sure if implies to everyone here . Coz I have kind of stop calling friends on the phone but using sms , mms and internet messager not to mention blogging as a way of communication.
pros ?

No longer gonna make stupid mistake of callin some one in the middle of a meeting .. And getting a scoldin

but despite all these pros..i feel the biggest issue is ... Missing is that personal touch of voice communication.... That differential tone of voice to express happiness and sadness all been replaced with emoticons.. :) :(
